Building our New Clinic!
Summary
We will build a clinic in an area of Jaipur to serve new communities including a settlement of the Banjara Tribe. The Banjara people have a fascinating history and culture. Our existing clinics are, and the new clinic will be, the hub of the full spectrum of services we offer to our clinic neighbors. The new clinic will serve about 1000 new families or about 5000 people who today do not have access to primary healthcare.

Challenge
The informal housing community we have targeted for our 4th clinic has little or no access to government services or primary healthcare. Easily preventable and treatable diseases and conditions exact a heavy toll in the community. These result in immediate health issues, of course, but also affect residents' long-term ability to grow healthy families and communities. Women are particularly at risk for lacking pre- and post-natal education and treatment.

Solution
Save Kids Trust provides primary health care to families to treat common injuries and diseases. We also provide education on nutrition and disease prevention to equip our neighbors to actively participate in their own health and wellness. Our educational programs include a focus on women's health issues, e.g., seminars on menstruation, anemia clinics, nutrition for expectant and new mothers. Our livelihood programs give a boost to women with necessary training and tools to start a business.
This will be the first SKT clinic space owned, not rented, by SKT. Not being subject to a landlord gives us the certainty to invest more deeply in this project than we otherwise would. For example, while the ground floor will look, and be used, much the same as our other clinics, we have the option to build two additional floors that will accommodate meeting space for our educational programs, additional examination rooms, as well as a small space for administrative responsibilities benefiting all our clinic locations and programs.
Budget
Working with our architect and design team in Jaipur, we estimate the cost to build a three-floor clinic in the Banjara Basti area of Jaipur to be ₹66.8 lakh. Of this total, ₹25.1 lakh is for the foundation and ground floor and an estimated ₹16.7 lakh for each additional floor. The balance is for outfitting the clinic with reception furniture, examination tables, and cabinets for storing medicine. The estimate includes all permitting, partial demolition of existing structures, brick construction of new clinic, and plumbing/electrical. The land itself has already been generously donated to SKT and the value of the land is not included in this budget. Depending on the available funds, we will build only the ground floor to start and add additional floors as funds permit.
As of August 2025, we have raised ₹37.6 lakh towards our goal of ₹66.8 lakh plus there remains ₹8.35 lakh in a matching fund which, when matched, will bring us to within 20% of our goal.
Long-Term Impact
We have seen many families transformed across multiple generations because of the services we provide through our 3 existing clinics. We see healthy babies delivered to young women who were themselves malnourished babies treated by SKT 15 years ago. We see children going to college because their mother earns a living with the sewing machine SKT provided 10 years ago. We have every reason to expect similar results from our 4th clinic.
